The iconic cover art for This Is Hardcore featured a nude model bent over red satin sheets, styled by graphic designer Peter Saville and painter John Currin. To market the album’s dark, adult film aesthetic, Island Records produced an incredibly rare, limited-edition promotional box set that actually included a set of custom crimson silk/satin bedsheets embroidered with the This Is Hardcore logo.

This set is black satin. A double size satin mattress cover and a satin valance. It’s been opened but never used. The pillowcases (2 of them) have the Pulp logo and ‘This Is Hardcore’ lightly printed on them.

It was only sent to select music journalists and DJs in 1998, it remains one of the ultimate, holy-grail collectors’ items for Pulp fans. They rarely pop up on secondary music memorabilia markets today, but when they do, they command a massive premium from Britpop collectors.
